Happy 2010! It is hard to believe that January is already over. I guess time flies when you are having fun! Kevin and I were able to celebrate the Christmas holiday with lots of family and friends. We made a very interesting visit to Indiana (we took our cat with us) where we were able to see my family for several days. Unfortunately there was no white Christmas for us this year, but we had a wonderful time none the less. Ava acompanied us because we could not find anyone to check in on her while we were gone. I hate to tell people that we actually travel with out cat :) She did very well in the car and had a great time exploring my parents house and fighting with their cat. After we returned home we were able to do some celebrating with Kevins family. I love being able to see family and friends over the holidays. It really puts things in perspective!

After my last post Dec 10 we got hit by a HUGE snow storm! Kevin and I had about 14 inches at our house and we were snowed in for several days. Temperatures were record low and stayed that way for several (like 4) weeks! It was really unbelievable for this area. Kevin says he has never seen anything like that here. It made me think of winters in Indiana :) Odly enough it happened again last weekend! We ended up with twelve more inches at our place and we were snowed in again.

It is hard to describe the road we live on, but it is going up the side of a mountain. You are pretty much walking straight up or straight down for 1/3 mile to get to our house. This isn't usually a problem when you are in the car but because of all the snow we are having to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk down. On Friday night we walked down in about 10 inches to meet some friends that were in town for the weekend. We carried their bags up the side of the mountain and I realized how out of shape I really am! We walked the drive up and down two more times Saturday (getting more and more sore every time). On Sunday Kevin thought he could get the car from the house to the bottom of the mountain. I found out that didn't work when he called me at the house to tell me he was stuck about 3/4 of the way down the road. After 45 minutes and two trips to the house for shovels and cat litter, we were free. We decided that we better just park the car and stay home. I informed Kevin after one more trip up and down that evening that I could no longer walk because I couldn't feel my legs or butt cheeks. I told Kevin if he wanted to take anymore trips down the hill he would have to go solo or carry me on his back :) That pretty much settled the issue.

I have lots of pictures of the house and of all the snow. It is hard for me to post them because we only get dial up internet at our house (how pre-historic). I will try and remember to bring my SD card to Kevin's office next week and hopefully I can get some pics on line for everyone to look at. Sorry it is taking so long.
